” Jingles “
Sept. 20 1994 —– May 25 2000
I never thought I would be writing something this soon.
I thought if anything it would be another 7 or 8 years at least.
But today that all changed. I had to bury my best furry friend.
When I first adopted her she was the first cat I looked at and the last.
I leaned into the cage she was being kept in at the adoption place
she hesitated a moment and then walked up and rubbed her
face against mine. That was it she was the one and I knew it.
When I lived in my apartment we became best of friends.
It was she and I. I would come home from work at night and when I
would open the front door there she would be 2 feet from the doorway
sitting on the floor. I could put an “X” on the spot she would be at
every time I came home.
Later when I met Annie (now my fiance) Jingles was not all
that friendly and literally there was a competition.
But as time went by she came to accept Annie and her daughters.
We became a great family.
Annie had two dogs Jingles was friendly with them as we all came
to live together. She was always welcoming to new family members
as our family grew.
As time went on she was always happy to see us when we
would get home. She was the welcoming committee with our friends
(along with Spottie one of Annie’s dogs who would greet everyone too.)
Spottie and Jingles were really good friends.
Boxes and baskets were her place. Every open box or laundry basket
at one point or another would have her in it.
She always had alot of love to share.
My only wish is that now that she is gone I hope she knows how
much I love her and will always remember her.
