I received Hooter as puppy. She was adopted from the SPCA in Fresno, Calif. in November of 1989. We thought she would be small because she had small feet but she grew…and grew…and grew!! We gave her a small box to sleep in but as she grew she still loved that box so she slept in it until the sides burst and we had to toss it out. She was named Hooter because of how she would bark, sort of a “hoot” sound.

She was a very compassionate dog, coming to me whenever she heard me cry and putting her paw on my leg, searching my eyes to see what was wrong. She was so good to hug! She would then lie down on my feet to make sure that she would be right there if there were any further tears. She helped me through some very rough times. She was always there for me. I have lost many friends and at a time when I had none, she was my best and only friend. Always there…such a good companion…such feeling in her doggie eyes.

She became very old and had a difficult time getting around. One morning she couldn’t get up and I knew it was time. She was on this earth for 13 years. She loved cats and kids. She always wanted to be in the front yard with the kids, not wanting to miss out on any of the action!

I can’t tell you how much I miss that ol’ girl dog. She is preceded in death by many cats, among them her cat friend Lillibet. She is survived by her nurse and friend Bandit, her kids Emily and Parker, her cats Ellie, Bob, Elvis, Baby and Henry.
We love you Hooter……….

Please wait for me on the other side,
