Sparky, today is day two, since your passing, and I just want to say how much we love and miss you, dear boy.
You were the “Apple of my eye”, and you always will be.
I shall never forget the first time that we met, back in February, 2000. We had just buried Noodles, and there you were. Lying in a cage for the first time, as you had just lost your human mom. Sparky, I could see the fear, along with confusion in your eyes. My heart went out to you, and I just knew that we both need each other at that time, as we were both suffering from a great loss. So, I adopted you, and for the next eight years, and six months, we were together, as one happy family. You never tired of showing me your gratitude, for rescuing you that day, and allowing you a new life.
I will always remember, looking into your eyes and telling you; “Sparky, you even sparkle in the rain”. I had been inspired by that expression, after hearing the; “Simple Minds” song, “Sparkle In The Rain” Yet, Sparky, it fit you to a tee, as you were always sparkly, along with a spring in your step. Your original mom appeared to now what she was doing, when she named you, “Sparky”. As the name fit you perfectly. You certainly were, “Sparky”, and most definitely were “Sparkly”……even in the rain.
All was right with the world, until that cancer came along. It robbed you of your vigor, and your health. You quickly went from eighteen pounds, down to eight pounds. Than your fur began to fall out. Finally, I came home to find that you had slept away. How we miss you, dear Sparky. You were my everything. The house is so empty & lonely without you. Even with all the cats, there. You’re no longer there, and I miss you ever so deeply.
Sparky, just keep an eye on the Eastern Gate, for some morning you shall see me coming through.
On that eternal day, when God calls me home, after I have thanked our Savior, for dying on the cross for me, we shall than meet to never be apart again.
Sparky, we love you, and we miss you. Oh how we miss you! Yet, now you’re healthy once again. You shall never suffer again, and you are with your original mom, and your other companion, “Fur Ball”. Along with; Pumpkin, BabyKitty, and snowball.
