“The Baby” (Ellie Mae – Redbone Coonhound)came into my life quite by accident. My boss’ dog sitter found her abandoned in a field shortly after giving birth to a little of puppies. The puppies were nowhere to be found.

Long story short, she became my dog. I had not had a dog in my adult life so the first week was quite an adjustment…..then I fell in love with my 4-legged soulmate!

Today (March 14, 2007) is the 2nd anniversary of her passing and I want her to know that I love her and miss her now as much as I did
the day I lost her.

Ellie Mae became affectionately known as “The Baby” and what a baby she was. She loved to dress up and go to doggie walks, Halloween contests, Reindog parades, etc. She was a loving soul. In the almost 3 shorts years that I had her, Ellie and I gave
each other unconditional love.

We went through some trying times together (separation anxiety), but it only strengthened our bond.

“The Baby” got sick one weekend in late February and within 3 weeks she had to be put down (cancer). I was not prepared to let her go, but I knew I had to do it for her. We spent her last moments together and she seemed to console me more than I felt I was consoling her.

Anyway, as I said above, it has been 2 years today. I think of her daily and know that one day we will be together again – of that I am sure!

So, until that day, I just want “The Baby” to know ……”mommy loves you baby” and I always will!

Love and Licks,
Cindy Sellers
