Charlie was the pick of the litter. He was born in Delaware and adopted by a couple in Baltimore,Maryland. They did not realize how large a Standard Poodle grew and soon decided they could not manage him. Back to the breeder who then placed him with some friends. A tragic accident occurred and Charlie’s(Onyx then)mistress was killed. Charlie was again returned to the breeder. Bill’s stepmother was riding by and saw him in the yard. She stopped to see the newest litter and Charlie followed her everywhere. Knowing that we once had a beloved black Standard Poodle, she called us to see if we would want this dog. Bill immediately drove from New Hampshire, our home, to Delaware. Charlie came back to Bedford, New Hampshire drooling all of the way as he was petrified being in a car again. Charlie loved New Hampshire and lived there until we moved to Ajijic, Mexico.
He thought Mexico was paradise, too, but did miss romping in the snow. Charlie was born on Valentine’s Day and went to doggie heaven today, March l4,2007. He was l3 years old. Our hearts are broken but we know he had a wonderful life. He leaves us and Annie(12 year old Standard Poodle),Grover(Mexican St.Dog) and Frida(Kahlo and Mexican St.Dog, of course.)
Lots of kisses,
