I never thought in a million years my parents would allow me to have a dog. That was until I came home with the surprise of the best dog in the world, who would later become my best friend! Coke-o soon became a member of our family, even eating Cheerios or Frosted Flakes every morning to start her day!
Coke-o lived a long and happy life; everyone who knew her loved her as much as we did (and I’m not being biased). Coke-o was so smart, I would take her downstairs and in 10 minutes teach her a new trick. Oh what I wouldn’t give to be able to teach her another trick…
My parents were faced with the most difficult decision, I believe, up to this point in their lives. They listened to Coke-o’s wish, and put her out of her suffering after 14 years and 4 months. This is such a great loss to me and my family because, as I said, Coke-o was such a part of the family; she was not a dog. Coke-o enjoyed chasing rocks in her younger years, then as she became a little older gave up chasing rocks and settled for chewing wads of computer paper. Coke-o’s favorite part of the day was when a visitor would come to the house she – was sure to remind the visitor to give her a biscuit, and when they left for that matter.
As an only child Coke-o was like my sister. When I was a teenager, and I was mad at my parents, she would go downstairs to my room with me and listen. I never had to worry about her telling anyone my secrets. Then I grew up and moved away and that was when Coke-o became the only child, living with my parents. They treated her like royalty with Frosty Paws ice cream, Cheerios and the most love
a loving pet could ever ask for.
I give my parents a lot of credit for making the difficult decision they made – I know it wasn’t easy. Let’s just remember the songs she used to sing when the vacuum was on & the joy the garden hose brought Coke-o in her younger days, and of course we can’t forget her
pestering us for biscuits.
WE LOVE YOU COKE-O & WILL NEVER EVER IN A MILLION YEARS FORGET YOU. Thanks for being the best dog/friend/sister/daughter!!!!!!
I can’t wait to see you again.
Lots of love & biscuits,
