We had Diamond almost four years. She came to us from a shelter, whom told us she had been removed from a home, she was badly abused. She had been at this shelter for 6 months. This is a no kill shelter.
Thank the Lord for these shelters!

We noticed that it appeared to look like Diamond had just had a litter of pups. The shelter told us “no but she needs to be spayed. So we made the appointment and had her fixed. At this time our vet doctor told us she appeared to be more then 2 1/2 years of age. It didn’t matter to us; she was now in a very safe, clean home, where Diamond would be loved endlessly. She went on one one boat ride with us and seemed to enjoy that, and she loved to ride in daddy’s truck. We would go shinning whitetails, boy did she love that! She would see them sometimes before we did. She saw her “deeries” boy would she bark. Diamond was always by our sides daily, wanting to please us, and she did!
Diamond had her own blankie and big doggie pillow, with all of her stuffed babies. That was “hers”. Diamond loved to have her back rubbed by daddy with our electric massager. Oh she loved that! She was a caring dog, always wanting to give of herself. She loved kids, even though we dint have any she loved all kids, especially the little girls next door that would sing “Jesus Loves Me song” she loved that, her tail would wag to the little girls singing.

After having Diamond for about 2 years, I was awakened by her coughing one night. I didn’t sound right. I called the vet, and he looked at her. He figured she may have been chewing on a stick or something, and got a piece of it lodged in her throat. So he put her under and when he called me later on that day he wasn’t sure he couldn’t find anything wrong. I brought her home, and the cough continued on and off for a while. I was not comfortable with this not knowing, (we also changed vets at this time) so I took her to Appleton Wisconsin,(top of the line veterinarian’s) about an hour and a half drive from us. They did several testings and found that her trache was collapsing. I was crushed deeply! The doctors told me that there was a surgery for this, but she would die on the table.

My heart was just breaking for her!!!!! She had been through enough, and now this! They told us that she had about 2 weeks left with us. I cried so much, I was beside myself. Our little girl had a strong will to live, and she made it almost one more year.

Diamond was trying to tell me things with her actions,at first I didn’t pay attention to, but hours later I did! She chewed daddy’s important papers up, and she never chewed or disturbed anything like that. She wouldn’t leave my side all day on the 6th. On August 7-05 Diamond’s breathing went down hill and I knew she was in trouble, I called the vet, and we brought her in, and on this day she went home to Jesus. She never suffered until this morning. Diamond had been going into the vets office every 2 weeks to be monitored. She slipped away from us, and left us with very heavy hearts. But we know that when she passed away and took her last breath here on earth; she took her first breath in heaven with Jesus. She will breath normal now and run and play with all mommies other pets. We will be together again when it’s our turn, and we will see you again. honey. You brought us joy and happiness, you gave your love unconditionally, you trusted us,and you were always a very good girl. We miss you dearly, and love you so much.God
Bless you Diamond.Beautiful girl!

Love,

mommy and daddy
