I found a home
A good place to stay
Thank you God
I’m no longer a stray.
They gladly took me
Into their home
So safe and loved
No more
Cold and alone.
They fed me good cat food
Salmon and cream
I went into shock
This must be a dream!
Mom gave me an old blanket
Fuzzy and warm
It felt so good
To be out of the storm.
The children petted
And played with me
I’m so thankful and happy
That I purr with glee.
I’ll be very good
So neat and clean
And the best behaved cat
You’ve ever seen.
I’ve had it so hard
Now I have it so good
Thank you God
You really understood.
So many good things!
I must make a list
From clean drinking water
To the very last kiss.
Fresh water, Kitten Chow
Clean litter pan
Salmon, chicken
Delicious sweet cream
It’s finally sunk in
This is not a dream!
Dad bought a flea collar
And put it on me
The fleas went bye bye
I sleep well now, you see.
I have my own mouse toys
Purple, orange and green
I have more fun
Than in my wildest dream
So I wash their faces
Give them kitty hugs and purrs
And squirm with delight
When they caress my fur.
A few days ago
My life was bad
Now it’s the best
That a cat ever had
Oh thanks again God
For that special day
When you sent
Those wonderful people my way
For on Febuary 4th, 2004
My life as a stray
Stopped at their door.
