It was just a month ago,
I received several rats.
After quarantining them,
A disease would meet it’s match.
But nothing showed.
So I didn’t know.
That the decease was lurking there.
Until the rats I received I loved,
their screams I hadn’t heard.
To tell me there was something wrong,
it was spreading and it hurt.
They died and we hadn’t known
that they were sick at first.
These rats they were autopsied
and this it came out worse.
They carried a virus
That had spread, it was to get worse.
I have lost so many,
I will lose many more.
How I miss, how I anger.
But my voice it isn’t heard.
This breeder who gave me these
Sick rats at first.
How people they just stick up,
For the person who’s done wrong.
The innocent are always left.
To cry for what’s been done.

Rest in Peace
My dear Ratties, you will be dearly missed.
