Fudge

He’ll no more bark as I come home
Or wag his tail as he chews his bone
No big brown eyes will gaze at me
So full of trust, so lovingly.

For now he’s gone to a better place
Where he can walk and run and chase
But he has left a broken heart
Although I knew one day we’d part.

Just six years is all we had together
Somehow I thought he’d live forever
But I am better for his love
He was a gift from God above.

So while I mourn for him and cry
I know he’s happy up on high
Free from pain and full of joy
He’ll always be my special boy.

In Memory of a very special dog Fudge –
gone but never forgotten
