A REFLECTION OF DISPATCH

While shopping for a wedding gown
A feeling came over me.
I felt the need to stop
at the pet shop
Just to browse to look and see.

As I walked in I spotted you—
Your smile caught my eye.
Just a white fluffy ball
of fur and yet
I knew between us
there would be a “tie.”

I put down a deposit
for the store clerk to hold
Then proceeded home with delight.
To tell of this wonderful gift
That I’d go back for
the very next night.

When I brought you home
you stole my heart.
I knew I’d never be the same.
From that moment on
it was decided
That “Dispatch”
would be your name.

Over the years
many nicknames were found
Like “Spatcher” “Spatch”
and “Puppy-bear”.
I’ve also called you
“Pumpkin” and “Puddin'”
But you never seemed to care.

So many wonderful memories.
We’ve shared
so many happy times.
The best part of all
was when we took our walks.
I was so proud
that you were mine.

You became the mascot
of Ashley’s soccer team
And of course
her baseball team too.
No matter where we would go
Everyone sure did love you.

Though life’s troubles
may have gotten you down
I loved you so very much!!
I knew that we
could conquer it all
Through hugs kisses and
“the healing touch.”

You knew me so very well
You were my VERY BEST FRIEND.
I had hoped that our time together
Would never have to end.

To heaven you have gone now.
Your suffering is over.
I can picture you
running happy and free
Over fields of
violets and clover.

I am saddened by your passing
And until we shall meet again
I wish for you
endless happiness
And I give to you
ALL OF MY LOVE
“MY BEST FRIEND!!!”

LOVE TO YOU ALWAYS

MOMMY (Cindi)
