Gizmo by Patrick Stokes / Patrick Stokes

Gizmo, my guinea pig, was the best thing that ever happened to me in my life. Every morning when I would get up he would squeal with delight. We had a way of “talking” to each other. After we said “good morning” to each other I would give him a handful of his favorite hay and a big scoop of pellets. Then I’d be off to school. He’d always greet me when I came in from school and of course I had to give him some extra hay and pellets. He was real fat but oh so cute. I had a blue blanket that someone gave me when I was a baby and I would wrap him
in that blanket and just hang out.

I had him almost five years. I don’t know what happened to him. He just got sick two days ago, went into his little hideaway and died. I can’t stop crying. I miss him so much. I made a memorial to him along the side of my house. I really hope there is a pet heaven and he’s there and I hope that some day I’ll see him again.

I love you Gizzy,
