German Shepherd

Gracie-

She was a rough dog who I never thought anything could ever hurt her.

She has done some weird things such as: climbed a electric fence to get out

and she was getting shocked and I was really upset and saying she was getting

hurt and when Gracie got out of the fence she was fine.

She always would get picked on from Lizzy and one time Gracie had

enough and they went after each other which was awful.

Since that happened we nick named her:

“The Anti-Christ Dog” nothing against religions.

Gracie has had 2 litters of puppies and the first time she was a terrible mom

and wouldn’t take care of them so we had Lizzy try and help her.

The second litter she was a great mom she must of learned from Lizzy,

and Dad & Mom are so proud of Gracie because she had come along wise.

She was a great mom.

Now I’m going to explain as what happened to our precious Gracie:

A sad story to be told:

My husband took all of our dogs to doggy day care in Topeka and they

couldn’t watch her puppies because there Grace had just had puppies so

we took them with us on vacation the puppies were a month old so we talked

to our vet and he said that was ok.

Gracie was doing real good the first 2 nights at day care and then

Saturday May 26th 2001 she jumped the 4 foot fence and walked out there gate

and went looking for them. The day care sheriff department and animal control

went out looking for her all night and then they couldn’t find her so they

all went home for awhile and the next morning went back out and that is where

the husband of the day care found her located on I-70 West bound.

We were told is that she crossed underneath a underpass and tried to come

up on I-70 West bound and was hit by a semi.

The gentleman who hit her on his way back stopped at the day care place

and asked if they were missing a black German shepherd and they said,

“yes” he said that he had hit a black German shepherd on I-70 west bound.

And was called when they found her and she had to be taken to emergency vet

to be cremated because not alot was left we were told.

Kim & Eddie feel so guilty to this day leaving there babies with daycare when

she had puppies we keep saying we should have taken her with us and figured

out something but now we can’t even have our Gracie with us but in heart,

memories and spirit.

Gracie was very close to me(Kim her mom) and Gracie would always wait

for me to come home from work to jump on me and that was her way

of saying “hello” and then I would take Gracie outside to the bathroom.

Gracie would always spend time with me. Gracie wanted to always sleep above

my head on my head or on me or beside me.

Gracie was so content when she was with me and really didn’t want anyone

else to take her. Daddy(Ed) would try and spend time with her

but not the same. Gracie really wouldn’t go and do things

for Daddy(Ed) like she would for me(Kim her mom).

Gracie was very special too me and has brought alot of good qualities

out in myself(Kim). Gracie taught me how to really care about people

since I have lost so many family and friends.

It seems like every time I get really close to something something bad

happens and I don’t know why. I ask myself why.

Gracie will never be forgotten as she will always live in me and my husband

for as long as we live.

I will tell anyone who has pet(s),(children)spend as much time with them as

possible because anything can happen even when you don’t think it will

happen to you and your family well it did us and I will never forgive myself for

what has happened but will make sure I spend as much time as possible

with my family.

She will always be remembered by all family members and many more friends.

My husband and myself said we would do anything to have her back.

Gracie I will never forget you and all you have done for me,

I Love you very much and will always miss you with all my heart and soul.

I love my baby she is one of many of the best things that has ever

happened too me.

Gracie will rest in peace and she will be watching over all of us.

If anyone has anything that they would like to send back to me about grieving

of lost pets(children) please feel free to email me back or write to:
