I knew you were there,
Really I did,
I didn’t pay enough attention.
I didn’t realize,
Something was wrong,
Until it was too late.
That one morning,
I didn’t know that would be the day,
But, it was.
It was a terrible sight,
To see you like that,
It wasn’t expected at all.
This poem was written for Iggorama Gui (Iggy) my Barred Tiger Salamander
who wasn’t very old when he died.
