Itsy by Denette & Earl Hyatt / Mommy

When my step-daughter & I first saw Itsy she was 8 weeks old and was nothing but a little jet black fur ball. I knew instantly that I had to have her when she drug herself to my feet. We took her home in a jacket pocket. She refused to sleep in her own bed, so from day one she slept on my left side curled up in a ball on her pillow. She was solid black, but as she aged she became grey around her mouth and down her neck.

She really was our pet, but she loved her daddy. She was a daddy’s girl. If he was in the garage working she had to be with him, when he sat in his chair she was with him. If her was in the shower, she was lying on the rug outside the shower, waiting for him to get out. But come bedtime, she was my baby girl.

She received the nickname Precious Princess because she had to have things her way. Well what can I say she was precious & a princess. She had her place on the couch, her place in the bed (next to me), & she was prissy. She didn’t like the rain or snow, that meant she would get wet, but she loved to go swimming with her lifejacket on at the lake. She was a cuddle bug, my true lap dog.

I miss her so much that my heart aches. I just wish I could just pet her one more time. She would always greet us when we came home from work with a little funny growl. I long to here that again. I had her for ten wonderful & happy years, but you know it just wasn’t long enough.

Itsy, I will always love you & I miss you so much.

I love you,
Itsy
