Awake I hear your constant wheeze.
A labored breath a wistful sigh.
A gentle kiss to say good-bye.
Your trusting eyes though filled with pain
My love for you is still the same.
Your body spent your face so pale;
A final swish of your golden tail.
My heavy heart it braves the end.
And saves a place for my best friend.
