Milo was only 8 months old when he died in a tragic accident that happened in our own back yard.
He had been knocked down by a car a month previous to the accidentin which he broke his jaw and burst the blood vessels behind his eyes.
His recovery was fast and he was soon his old self again constantly up to mischief as all puppys are.
We were unable to let him out in the garden as he had damaged the fencing and we were waiting for it to be repared. As it was the middle of summer we saw it as unfair to keep him locked in all day so we bought a long length of chain and began chaining him up outside (this was probably the worst decision of my life).
Milo was always a curious dog and on the 13th of July 2001(Friday 13th) Milo jumped the fence. The drop on the other side was much lower than the one on ours and he broke his neck. My brother-in-law saw the incident, but by the time he got there it was too late.
So for anyone out there that has a dog chained outside make sure they are safe and cant injure themselves in any way.
