We bought Missy through the Humane Society in Miami because I didn’t want to be alone when my husband went on business trips. She came from a litter of six sisters. I originally wanted a chow but when my husband showed me Missy, I just couldn’t take my eyes off her. She was the cutest and perkiest little puppy at just 6 weeks old.
I knew she was the one for me.
Over the years she has brought us so much joy and laughter. We were the only family she had known. Yes, she could find trouble at times but one look at her adorable face would make you forget.
I never thought the day would come when I would have to make the decision of having her put to sleep. For 12 1/2 years she was more than just a dog. She went through Hurricane Andrew, 2 pregnancies and a move to a new city. We did not know what was wrong with her at first but we knew that she was not herself in many ways. It took us 3 months to find out she had cancer in her throat. I was devastated to no end. The day we put her to rest, I held her and told her she was very much loved and one day I would see her again.
Today, we have ourselves a new puppy,Abby;who looks exactly like Missy and has the same traits. I know Missy sent Abby to us and that she is watching over our family.
We love you always,
