Hamster

I was on my way from school one day and my mother

had bought some new hamster food for Pinky as she had

been living on fresh veg for the last couple of weeks.

She had a full bottle of water because it was hot.

When I got home she was taking her last few breaths and

I started to cry so much my tears made a puddle in her cage.

I picked her up in my hands and her bones were crippled.

She started to move and breath and I started to deny that

she was going to die. But it was no use.

I prayed and prayed but she died in my hands.

I wrapped her up in tissue and placed her in a tub.

My dad made a hole in my garden I placed her in there

and we covered her up.

When my other hamster died we cremated her.

In Memory of the Pinky Purkys.
