Rudie by Chal / Chalrei

I knew your sight was dimming,
the things you could not hear,
and if pain held you quiet,
I refused to see it there.
So many times I prayed to God
To grant a painless end,
Could he send his angels
To take you while you slept.
These loving hands that held you,
Known to you alone,
would hold you this one last time,
when he gently took you home.
Go now my loving Rudie,
I know there is no pain or fear,
Yet I grieve for being left behind
with your memory all too clear
I see at times a special toy,
A picture of your face
I look again and I still cry,
I will never be the same.

We will meet again someday,
Rudie
