Sandy was the most intelligent dog I had ever met. She was warm, friendly, loved people and other animals. She knew exactly what each person she met needed from her and she made sure they knew she cared. My Mom (her Nanna) was very sick and whenever she came over, Sandy would very gently nudge her hand and walk slowly to the couch with her. It was so amazing to watch her interact. My brother liked to play so every time he came over she jumped around and grabbed toys for him to throw. My Dad (her Papa) just wanted to scratch her head so whenever he came over she would run over to him and push her head in his hand. She never got it mixed up, not once. She did that with every person she met and never forgot who she was with. It was just so amazing. Everybody just instantly fell in love with her. She had the incredible talent of making every single person feel like they were the most important person in the world.
Sadly none of us who loved her so much could make the awful cancer go away and she passed on. I have only begun to realize just how many people she touched with her heart of gold. As I sit here writing this, I am so aware of the quietness in the house as she just gave off so much energy. Elvis, her cat brother and me, will miss her so much.
We love you Sandy,
