For 16 years we have loved you-
For 14 years you challenged us every day-
We taught you lessons-
Only to have you use the lessons on us-

You raised Leisel from a puppy and
were strong when she passed-
You raised Lucy from a pup and
taught her the ropes-
You taught Roscoe as a late arrival
that size does not mean alpha-
You gave us unconditional love
when we needed it most-

Now we think time has run its course-
For the past two years we gave
back your unconditional love-
Your bridge friends have
said their goodbyes-
Lucy, Roscoe, Alex and Griff
know it’s time and said goodbye-

Still, we can’t let you go-
I think you have asked enough,
to leave this earthly world-
Now it’s time to join your sister
who is waiting on the other side-
Playing in the green pastures,
with tall grass, cool water, and tennis balls-

Soon God will reach out his hand-
And you will leave the pain behind-
Always know we tried
to do the right thing-
You were our first baby-

We will miss you-
We will miss your antics-
We will miss your love-
And I ask you to forgive me-
