SCARLETT

The sweetest face I’ve ever seen
And this I don’t mean ‘maybe’.
I knew the moment she arrived
That she would be our ‘baby’.

Her life was short but full of joy
When her last breath was taken.
I knew that when she ‘went to sleep’
That she would never waken.

I hope that when God called her
To dwell with Him above
That she would not forget us
And how much she was loved.

I guess He tires of calling
The aged to the fold
And so He picked a ‘rosebud’
Before it could grow old.

God knows how much we loved her
But He has to take a few
To make the land in Heaven
More beautiful to view.
