Shelby Lou

Minx Cat

Shelby Lou wasn’t actually my cat. He was my sister’s.

I remember Kim getting him. I was 10 years old at the time that she got him.

He was so small he could fit in one hand. He was very playful as a kitten.

He was a black and white cat with a little spot of black on his chin.

We used to play with each other all the time.

When you held your hand in front of him like a claw he would try

and jump into it. When you rubbed his stomach he would do his legs like

a rabbit does when its hopping. And once when I was feeling sad

laid at my feet. Shelby is part of my life I will always remember.

I think Sara Malachalan put it best when she said: I will remember you.

Shelby wherever the wind may take me where ever I go,

we’ll be together again one day.

Sleep well Shelby Lou you are with the Lord now.

One day we will be together again.
