Today was such a sad day. Shera was my grandmother’s and my uncle’s dog she was their love. My grandmother called her Slatko it means “darling” in bulgarian. I work as a vet assistant during the summer holidays so I was there when the vet castrated her last Friday. She got worse yesterday so I picked her up this morning before going to work and brought her with me. The vet gave her an antibioticum injection because she always vomited everything even the water she drunk. For me she looked so tired but the vet said that this is usual for dogs after the castration because it was a big intervention.
When I got there after midday this afternoon to work Shera was gone. She just fell asleep. I couldn’t believe it I would have never expected that. The vet was shocked too. He thinks it was an embolism and that she sure didn’t suffer. She looked as if she were sleeping. It was then my mother who told my grandmother and my uncle the sad news. It is still like a bad dream it doesn’t seem real yet.
They got Shera from a kennel when she was about 8 months old. It was Fido another dog they then had who chose her. She was a good guardian dog and a loving family member. They loved her so they can’t believe she’s gone.
I know she’s now at Rainbow Bridge healthy and happy together with her lost companion Fido. They sure are enjoying themselves until it is their family’s time to join them. I’m thankful she didn’t have to suffer I think she knew that she was going to cross the Bridge it was a peaceful and silent leaving.
Dear Shera
I thank you for the eight years you brought my relatives happiness and laughter. We’ll never forget you. You’ll always be in our hearts forever. Rest in peace now and please look down on us and say hello to Fido. I’m sure God must have needed you more he had a reason to call you this soon.
Until we meet again Slatko …
Love
