Cocker / Springer Spaniel

I was playing baseball in my back yard and I saw a unusual

shape in my neighbors yard. The neighbors had a huge female dog

and I saw a small shape. I looked over the fence and saw her face,

and I fell in love her. She looked like a cocker/Springer to me,

about 7 months old. I pet her through the fence and sat there forever,

while she nuzzled and licked my hand.

When my mom got home I told her about the pup. I ran out to see her

again and there was my friend standing there petting her.

I asked her where she got the puppy and Erin (the girl) said they

found her but they had to take her to the pound cause they couldn’t

keep her. They said I could have her I took her over the fence in

my house to see my mom of course my mom fell in love.

Erin said I could keep her for a while since she was gonna be gone

for a few hours. So we had soo much fun. My dad got home and as soon

as he saw her he said “No we aren’t having any dogs” my heart fell.

I gave her back and a few days later we were going to the park

for a party I called to see if Erin and Shiloh (the new name we had for

her) wanted to come. Erin was gone so I asked if we could bring Shiloh.

We did she sat on my lap all the way there.

She was scared to death of the moving car but sitting there in my

lap she new she could trust me and everything would be ok.

I promised her I would never let her go and some how I figure out

how to keep her forever.

Shiloh was a very timid puppy shy but extremely sweet.

Not like any other dog I have ever known. I loved her soo much.

We got to the park and she ran around with me and my friends!

She loved the people and was having so much fun. Then a lady

came with her boyfriend her name was Rachel. She like Shiloh,

and I told her we trying to find a home for her.

(BIG HUGE MISTAKE) and the lady called her mom and everyone

agreed accept me. I didn’t say a word even though I should have.

I held my Shiloh girl (as I called her) and slipped her collar off and

handed her to Rachel and they walked away with her,……..

I saw the look of confuse in her eyes my promise had been broken…..

my love my girl was taken away forever.

I came home and sat in that corner where I first saw Shiloh and I

cried for at least an hour. Only those that have experienced the love,

will understand what I mean. You may think “o you only had her for a few

days how can you become attached that wasn’t love” oh oh no that

was as real as love could get my broken heart is hidden under a smile.

I always will remember Shiloh baby so don’t dare say “that wasn’t love

I loved Shiloh with a love more that words can explain.

I saw Shiloh a few days later and my heart leaped! I hugged her and

kissed her and we remembered each other of course the other owners

had named her something else (Puddles because she always wetted

everywhere) but she was Shiloh and always will be Shiloh to me.

They took her away and I thinking I would see her again said

“Bye Shiloh baby” . I told Rachel (the lady that took Shiloh) to call us if

anything went wrong and they needed to get rid of her.

Later they called and said Shiloh kept wetting in the house and

she wouldn’t stop. So we took her to a no-kill shelter.

I cried and I got mad Shiloh was gone forever never ever to be seen

again my baby was gone for ever…………. why didn’t they

call me? why? why? I loved her!

Shiloh is a black and white female cocker/Springer spaniel.

She has 2 brown spots above her eyes and a little on her muzzle.

As I said she is shy timid but very very sweet.

I lost her on Oct 29,1999.
