Star by Joyce Mayer / Mommy

She was so small, I picked her from a litter of 11. On the bus going home, I put her in the palm of my hand, and I named her Star…She was my everything, she was the reason why I got up in the morning, she was the reason why I even wanted to live…She was the first thing in my life that I ever loved…However, she had a bad stomach, was very finicky with food, and in the end, that killed her…Because her kidneys stopped functioning, she had to be put to sleep because she had trouble eating….

She had a sense of humor, and would look at me like I was crazy sometimes…And she always kissed me on my lips…

I could not have had a better friend in my life..It was horrible when I had to tell her that “mommy will help you” when she was lying on the floor and looking at me and thru me with those gorgeous eyes..I wonder what she was thinking, was she wondering how I would fare without her…

She knew my soul. She was with me 24 hours a day for 14 years and 3 month…No one has ever been with me that long…

Once I was screaming in the house because I lost my glasses, and all of a sudden I found them, and I said “Star”, everything ok now.

When she ate all her food, I clapped, and said
“horrah for Star”.

I will miss the pooch..In fact,
I do hope there is a doggy heaven and
she is waiting for me there.

I love you Star, I miss you,
I look forward to kissing you again.

Love,
Star
