Irish Setters and Golden Retriever

Tiffany came into ours lives when our Sheltie Dawn

disappeared at the age of 14.

Our lives have always been built around our Dogs and

this was the 1st time we were without a dog.

Tiffany was adopted from the Irish Setter Association.

They had to interview and approve us before they would allow us

to have one of their dogs. Little did they know that Tiffany would be given

a home better than some children with so much Love and Caring.

She was a little difficult when we first got her she loved to run away

and have us chase her. A Beautiful and intelligent and active animal..

But we also knew Tiffy needed a friend.

So Megan came into our family as Tiffy’s friend.

We always had 2 dogs to keep each other young and a companion

for each other if we left the house.

Meg was not an easy dog to find however as there were not

many Irish Setters available but after a long search we found her.

Tiffany resented Megan when we brought her home and took about

2 weeks before she would accept her.

But Meg knew her ground and was very patient waiting till

Tiffy accepted her. After that they were great friends they brought so

much joy and love into our lives and to each other.

They were best Buddies. Like two book ends always together.

But then Tiffany’s life ended at the age of 14 ½ when she

developed Bloat. This was our first experience with such an illness.

She passed on while my Husband was away in Florida visiting our daughter.

She died right at my feet she was always with me at the computer.

My son and I took her remains at 2:00 in the morning to have her cremated.

She was so dearly loved by the entire family.

But we still had our Megan who had been Tiffy’s pal and best Buddy.

We knew when we lost Tiffany that Megan then needed a friend

so 2 weeks after Tiffy passed on we found Brandy a friend for Megan.

Brandy this little ball of fur that came into our lives at a great time of year

Brandy was probably the fastest dog that ever trained for us.

She fit in like a glove so intelligent and loving.

Brandy was a real playful pup and always had to have something

to hold in her mouth. Every time my hubby went to a garage sale he would

bring Brandy home a stuffed animal. Wouldn’t be long before the eyes

were gone and the stuffing would be all over the house.

But she had quite a collection and they were all hers.

Meg would take them away from her occasionally but Brandy would

always take it right back.

Brandy had the most beautiful eyes and disposition.

Everyone always remarked on how beautiful she was.

Naturally all our dogs slept with us and Brandy and Megan

shared our bed with us.

But then the day came when Megan who was suffering from age

was having a problem and her hind legs didn’t want to hold her anymore.

As she got worse and we could not help her anymore we were forced

to take her to our Vet. And the Vet said it would be best to put her down..

We had hesitated for so long as we knew this is what he would tell us.

But we knew in our hearts it was what we had to do she deserved

peace to relieve her pain. This was the hardest thing we ever had to do.

And we mourn to this day and always wonder what would have been

if we did not put her to sleep.

Our Grandson moved in with us in the summer of 2000 and his dog

Brosha came with him an adorable little pup with a very

different looking coat she reminds me of a Mink coat.

Very sweet and very playful. She is only 2 1/2.

But Brandy and Meg accepted her even though I believe they were

not all that happy on her permanent arrival.

But when we lost Meg Brandy had Brosha so we decided to wait

to get another dog.

Then Suddenly on a Sunday evening Brandy threw up but we were

not alarmed as they do throw up and she was always eating

Brosha’s food so we never thought that much about it.

But within 3 hours she was gone!!

Oh dear God it can’t be we were on our hands and knees shaking her

and pleading with her to wake up. But she was gone.

This honey was only 5 years old healthy and happy as far as we knew

but God came down and took her from us and the hardest

part is we don’t know why.

This is something that we are having a big problem dealing with

not knowing why. But unfortunately life brings us the bad with the good .

Now for the first time in our lives we didn’t have another dog to

replace our last loss of Megan one to be a friend for Brandy …

But Brandy did had Brosha our Grandson’s dog.

Who would have ever thought that Brandy would leave us only 6

months after Meg and at the young age of 5.

And we would be left with no animal of our own to love.

Now Brosha who moved in with two friends has none.

This little honey is lost and grieving. I dread the day my Grandson moves

out and takes her and we will be left without any animal to love.

I know in my heart we will have to acquire another dog but right now

we are just to devastated and need time to heal from losing Megan & Brandy.

Our lives feel so empty.

We are not youngsters so it seems more difficult for us at this

point in our lives. The only joy we have is all the wonderful

memories that each one has given us.

We learn how important life is and the true meaning of Love from

these furry creatures that become your Best Friends.

The pictures of each one is a real symbol of the love we had for them

and the love they had for us and each other.

Never turn your back on them without a pat or a gesture of letting them

know how much they mean and how important they are to your life.

Animals are the most wonderful thing a human can have they are

always there for you in sickness and in health they open up their

lives and devote themselves to being your protector and your

true friend for life.

It is a shame that all the people in this world are not like dogs

so willing to trust and love.

God giveth and God taketh away.

We will never know the reasons why but we must go on and try to fill

our lives and the lives of another animal that needs love and a home

where they can be a part of a loving family.

Once we are ready there will be another furry creature that needs

a home one to keep us company and one that we can love

and have as a Best Friend.

Tiffy Meggie Brandy we loved you so much and we will miss you dearly.

Someday we will all be joined together and be a

Happy family again.

Till then girls keep each other company and wait for us.

With all the Love from the bottom of our hearts…

Mommy & Daddy
