My children and I picked out
this beautiful black male kitten we named Toby.
He was such a character and we loved him for 11 short months.
Toby was an indoor cat and he use to catch mice in the house
and tried to bring them into my bed. He always slept with me
or my daughter Shawnda.
Toby was obsessed with the toilet anytime anyone flushed the
toilet he would run into the bathroom to watch the bowl swirl.
We could never figure out what the fascination was.
One time a bird got into my basement and when it started to
chase Toby he ran.
He purred like a lawn mower and love to attach
my toes and eat my hair.
One day when my children and I came home Toby gave
the kids his usual greeting. They petted and stroked him and
he purred and loved them. Then Toby came into the
livingroom where I was sitting in my favorite chair.
He looked at me and meowed.
I looked at him and said “What is it Toby.”
He jumped up in my arms and let me love him and stroke him,
and he purred. Then all of a sudden I felt his body jerked.
As I called to him I saw the life go out of Tobys eyes,
and he was gone that fast.
We rushed him to the Vet but I already knew Toby was gone,
my children was devastated Toby I told them waited until
we got home just so he could say “Good-bye I love you all.”
I will never forget Toby there will never be another one
like him in my life.
Telling you this brings both tears of happiness and tears of joy.
I know Toby is in heaven and we will all see him again.
