Cat
There is a great lady who lives in Beverly Hills – my girlfriends’ mother.
She catches wild cats mostly kittens born in the alleys of Beverly Hills
(quite a contradiction of the back alley cat in the ritzy neighborhood)
and has them fixed at her own expense.
Following some time at home many times to tame them she then takes
them to adoption clinics on the weekends and with a strict
screening process finds them good homes.
Last Monday she brought the latest group of 4 kittens to be fixed.
There were three beautiful totally black babies and one pretty
striped one – all with great personalities.
Velvet was the first to be operated on and while in recovery
her heart stopped. She was revived.
However she did suffer brain damage.
The money was not even a thought and Velvet spent the next two days
in 24 hr emergency care in hopes for the best – every being
deserves that chance.
But on Wed at approx. 4:20pm she stopped breathing again.
She was the sweetest kitten of the group
and the life she could have had will surely be missed.
Never take it for granted that any routine operation will go well.
Be sure to tell your loved ones (be they animal or other) how you
feel about them before the go under…you never know if they
will come out.
My cat Fuzzer lost her brother three years ago – he also didn’t
survive a surgery. I had decided if Velvet recovered that she was going to
come to my place and have Fuzzer as an older sister.
I guess it was not meant to be.
Well Velvet is not suffering anymore.
In her short life she managed to deeply touch a few of us
and we will always remember her.
May she rest in peace.
