Jaeger by Kelly & Patricia Casey / Dad and Mom :)

Jaeger was a beautiful black and white short hair cat. He was the most personable and loving cat I’ve ever had. Each morning he would greet us at the bottom of the stairs, roll over and want his belly rubbed. Whenever I sat in my chair he was right there cuddling and grooming and exposed skin on me. When I took a nap on the couch on my back he was always there right on my chest! If I had a comforter on he would crawl right under and snooze with me. Jaeger also liked to play fetch! I would say “You want to play?”. He would get one of his milk jug rings and bring it to me. I’d throw it and he would retrieve it. He would do this until I stopped throwing it! Jaeger loved me and his mom (but he was really more affectionate with me) and was very loyal. I miss his grooming me, his napping with me and his unconditional love he showed to us. RIP Mr. Jaeger! We miss and mourn you little buddy!

Patches by Kelly & Patricia Casey / Mom and Dad

Our Patches was 19 years old. She was a loving companion to us both right up to the end. She was suffering from a thyroid condition of which she was being treated for. She continued to lose weight and several days before she passed – she stopped eating entirely. We tried to coax her with all her favorite foods to no avail. She became wobbly and couldn’t walk far without falling down. Horrible to watch her suffer like that. We held her and petted her and she continued to purr softly. She lost her hearing and vision became impaired as well. I made an appointment for the vet because we could not stand to see her suffer. The night before we went out to dinner and when we got home we saw her at the bottom of the stairs. I thanked God for not having to take her to the vet – a gut wrenching experience. Thanks for the 19 years Patches! We will miss you 🙂

C.C. {Christmas Cat} by Kelly & Patricia Casey / Mom and Dad

C.C. lost her brother exactly 5 months before she passed. She and the veterinarian put up a valiant effort with a tongue that would not heal after surgery. She was fed at home through a stomach feeding tube and bathed daily because she couldn’t bath herself
because of the condition of her tongue.

We battled a serious infection and even though we were feeding her much more than she would ever eat on her own – she dropped to 6 lbs. After two months, 5 surgeries, countless medications and unlimited TLC from her mom and dad and the vet – she continued to deteriorate. She had no quality of life and was confined to a small spare bedroom
relying on us for food and water.

The very difficult decision by all parties was to end C.C.’s misery and put her to sleep. A biopsy was taken of her mishapen and discolored tongue and it turned out to be cancerous – the reason that her tongue never healed. She will be missed and
her loving manner will never be forgotten.
