Bisquit by Vanessa Milligan / Vanessa

I remember seeing Bisquit for the first time and I knew I had to have her. She had these beautiful brown eyes and she was so small. She seemed so sweet and she ended up being the best dog ever. I was so scared of dogs until her. We thought that she was going to be small and boy were we ever wrong she ended up being about 60-70 pounds. She loved to give hugs and sleep with me and eat basketballs. When I finally got my driver’s license, we would take car trips to the bank.
She was such a good car rider.

It was about a year and a half ago when she got her first tumor. It started out small and was on her cheek, but then it got bigger. We took her to the vet and they removed it. Thankfully it was benign. Then about 6 months later we noticed that her stomach was getting bigger. So we again took her to the vet and they said it was another tumor. They were going to do a biopsy on it but (thank God) they did an ultrasound and saw that they had to do surgery. If they would have done a biopsy she would have bled to death on the table. So they got it out and it weighed 6 pounds. As in true Bisquit fashion she ended up with a very rare form of cancer that nobody knows much about.

The vet said that they didn’t know how long she would live. Almost a year later we took her to the vet to get her shots and they picked her up and found the tumor that would take her life.

There was nothing that they could do to help her. This one was attached to her liver and stomach. So she struggled she got to where she couldn’t jump and give me a hug when I got in from work. She couldn’t run and play, then she got to where she could hardly get around. There was just too much fluid around the tumor. The vet told me that they could drain it, but that they wouldn’t know how long she would live so 2 weeks before my 21st birthday my baby got put to sleep. I remember leaving her there ( I couldn’t stay in the room.) and her looking at me with those trusting eyes and it was like she knew it was over. She just looked at me. I told her I loved her and every day since then I have thought about her.

She will always be in my heart. We had her cremated so now she will still go everywhere we do. My baby was always there for me. Everyone who came in contact with her fell in love. She was the best and will be missed GREATLY!!!! Bisquit eat all the basketballs you can and share your food with Spott. You were the best dog anyone could have.

Bisquit , I hope god has given you
lots of basketballs to chew up and lots of room to run.
