Cat

We went to the pet store on a normal day not expecting

anything special. We were just there to get some cat food.

My little sister wanted to go to see the animals for adoption a normal

procedure in a place like that. Once there we discovered a perky tabby.

Being animal lovers we asked to go see the cat inside the room in

which it was placed.

The cat showed-off best to it’s extent to get out of that cage.

He rolled he rubbed he purred he seemed the perfect cat.

We adopted him and took him home to our shocked father.

At first my dad was MAD. He yelled and yelled.

He argued that he should have been included in such a decision

but he agreed to give the cat a chance. That same night I sat worried that

the cat beside me would not be there soon. I sat an sat and then the cat

came to me and climbed on my lap. He slept on my lap for hours while

I tried to listen to MTV.

We decided to keep Eddie. Everything was going great.

Eddie got along with our other cats Angel at the tender age of 21 was

barley able to handle “another one” and Oliver who his exact opposite

when comparing fur became his soul mate.

Eddie and Oliver were the best of friends.

We got use to having Eddie around a normal thing at one point in time.

But then one day my mom let him out in the evening.

He never came home. In fear that he would not come back and

we would never know his fate like other cats we had lost in the past

we made signs and posted them around the neighborhood

and offered an award. We hoped and prayed.

One day after I came home from school I heard the news from my mom.

It was bad. Eddie had been found but he was badly hurt.

He had been hit by a car and been stranded on a large

street for three days. The strange thing was that Eddie was hit on

a big street the same street my friend Jessica lives on.

Also Jessica’s house was where Eddie was found meowing

and groaning in the bushes.

Eddie was taken to the veterinarian the son of our neighbor.

And after treatment Eddie came home. Eddie came home in bad condition.

He limped and his usually high spirits were down.

Before bed that night I went to Eddie who was in the third floor

with food and water and I told him I loved him.

I told him I hope he would be okay and I will always love him.

That night I prayed for our special cat.

I went to school the next morning and told my friends Annibel Jennifer

Nina Sam and others that my cat was found and he probably will be okay.

When I came home I got a ride from my mom. She told me right away.

Eddie died.

His injuries were worse than we thought. I would rather not say

all that was wrong for Eddie’s sake but I cried for days.

At school when I told everyone what happened I struggled

to keep cool. Then I saw the shocked sympathetic face on a close

friend and I broke down.

When I think of Eddie I always get really sad but I know he

was a great cat and now he is

in a better place.
