Mica Luca by Joe Luca / Rest in peace little one.

I remember the first time I met Mica, it was in the summer of 1996. She looked to be a few months old at the time. She hung around my parent’s yard in Brooklyn and that’s where we first met. I was never much of cat person, let alone a pet person, but as most cat owners say, their cat usually picks them. That was certainly the case with Mica. We hit it off right from the start, and I promised her that when I was on my own I would take her with me. 9 short years later I can say that we have been through some really good and bad times together,
fortunately more good.

Mica was suddenly stricken with rear leg paralysis from a clot which was secondary to an underlying heart condition. Her prognosis was grave, and this morning I had to make the hardest decision of my life. I hope she knew I did it to spare her from any misery. As her sedative kicked in I whispered in her ear how much I loved her and would miss her. I can’t believe my little Mica is gone and I will sorely miss her.

Thank you Mica for helping become a cat person.
I wish you were still here.
