The moment I met you
My life was changed
I always new you loved me.
As I loved you
We would play all day
Have slubber parties in your dog house.
We were only children
Who never seemed to part.
As we grew
I had less time
To spend with you.
But no matter what happened
Or how depressed I grew
You would always kiss me
and make me feel brand new.
Then one day you grew skinny.
Your eyes told your age.
I begged for you to go to the hospital.
But they said you were only a farm dog,
Who was going to die someday.
I could not bare to watch
For you were slipping away.
Finally they grew to their sences
And took you to the vet,
By then it was to late,
For you were very sick.
You had cancer.
That’s why you were thin.
But no one knew you had suffered from strokes
Or were blind and deaf.
The night dad had said you were going to go away
All I wanted to do was make a way for you to stay.
Then the day came you were suppose to die at 8 am
I cryed all the way to school I could not hold it in.
When 9 am came I lost my breath
And knew that it was done,
My once loved puppy
Now was really gone.
After work I came home to find an empty kennel,
And my family stood silent as I walked into the room.
I collapsed to my knees.
They presented your collar.
I asked dad when it was he said 9 am.
I knew we were linked
for I knew when you died
now everything that happens to me
I know you’re by my side.
