Monroe was a Maine Coon given to me by my good
friend in June,1992.
I still remember when I used to go & visit my friend Monroe insisted
on crawling into my purse…..like he wanted to come home with me.
Well my friend & her husband moved into a new house with white carpets
& she needed a good home for Monroe…..that’s how I acquired Monroe.
He had the most beautiful green eyes & when he was healthy,
he’d weigh 18 lbs. He was the best looking cat in my neighborhood…..
everyone always thought that he was the biggest cat they had seen.
I never let him outside unless he was on a leash….
we’d go for a short walk.
His favorite past-time was sitting on his window-perch
& watching the birds & butterflies fly by.
He gave us unconditional love.
He was the BEST CAT we’ve ever owned.
He has been so faithful & absolutely loving & playful.
He made it a point to crawl into bed with me & sleep across my belly.
I loved him so much that I’d sleep & not stir as not to disturb him.
We both enjoyed each other’s company.
He’s traveled with us to Pullman when we went to visit our
daughters in school. He stayed with us in the hotel…..
he enjoyed it.
We had him for 11 years 11 wonderful beautiful years.
Diabetes & cancer took him away from me.
It was so painful to let him go but we had no choice.
I know that he is in a better place with a perfect body,
no pain no suffering.
May God bless him & all the other pets who have left
their Mommies & Daddies behind.
