MY LITTLE MIRACLE

BY ELAINE KON

Growing up I dreamed of being a mother and having a pet.

Due to medical problems from birth I’m unable to

have children and I’m unable to have pets because of allergies.

In 1985 at 23 a miracle came into my life and

made my dreams come true.

My miracle was a 2-pound 14-ounce Bichon Frise puppy,

which is a breed of dog that does not bother some

people with allergies. Now I have the child and

pet I always wanted.

My little miracle was determined to make my childhood

dreams come true at any cost to herself.

Pooky bounced back from 15 surgeries in her life.

The last one only three weeks before she left us.

Over the years she only asked for one thing in return.

When the pain of living was too much for her to bear

(we did not know she was in pain) that we let her go.

At the age of thirteen years and five months my little miracle

went home to where she came from HEAVEN.

We found out for the first time after she was gone,

her entire body had been taken over by cancer.

Consider adopting a human in a fur coat (cat or dog).

They not only give you many years of unconditional love.

They can make your dreams come true.
