Princess by Terri & Dan

Saturday the sixth of April my Dear wife Terri had made one of
the hardest decisions someone with a beloved family
member could make.
To give the greatest gift one could possibly make.
To choose to end a life with dignity the life of her devoted companion
Princess her twelve year old German Shepherd.

Princess had been suffering with arthritis and her back
legs were failing.
It was so hard for Terri to watch what would have been inevitable.
Princess was on six different medications to ease her pain but
it increasingly became more difficult for her to walk and
a new medication made her very ill.
As she called her vet to ask if there was another medication to try
she realized that maybe it was time.

Time to let go and give her friend the freedom to run again
to play without pain and enjoy what she had missed the
last year of her life.

Terri raised Princess from what she called an eight
week old ball of fur.
From that day forward Princess never let Terri out of her sight
and was always within petting range.

I hope the grief my dear wife feels for her friend will pass
quickly and think of her crossing Rainbow bridge running in open fields
and chasing cockers as my wife has three of them
two are rescues as they drove Princess nuts.

Princess her friend a friend I wish we all
could have had.

Sincerely,
Dan Footlander
