April 28 1999 — Sept. 29 2001
Great Dane
He only fit in a medium size box and could barely open
his little eyes. But by the age of one year he stood a little
over six feet (on his hind legs).
Our Samson.
He entered our lives after the death of our
first baby Duke a month later.
Not to replace Duke but to become a big part of our family.
Samson Allan. He roamed around the “king” of his domain.
He became the protector of our family as we later on discovered.
He would always come between us and a stranger.
Sending out little warning signs to not try anything.
We had to train him that not everyone was out there to harm us.
Recently Samson became a “hero” when he stopped a robber
in our backyard. Our “hero”!!
Samson’s face was priceless. He had so much expression on
his face for a “dog”. This will always embedded in my mind.
Seeing his facial expression when he was confuse at us
questioning what we were doing.
Especially when it was time to open presents for any occasion.
He loved opening presents he had this thrilled look.
Unfortunately he was taken from us on September 29th
around three o’ clock.
The day before around the afternoon his papa and dada notice how
he was not doing too well eating. By 4 or 5 after many observations he
was brought to the Vet hospital near our area.
Samson was going through “bloating”. His stomach had twisted.
The doctor informed us they would have to operate as soon as possible.
Even though the operation too would be life threatening we
had no options. He made it through the operation but earlier the
next morning he was receiving complications.
The doctor informed us that because of the lost of blood
(he was bleeding internally) his heart finally gave out.
He never awoke from his surgery afterwards.
Samson I was so numb at the news. I did not react.
Everything finally sunk it as the day went by and
my heart felt so heavy.
We are trying to coupe with losing you.
We keep telling ourselves that you are now with your
brother Duke watching down at us.
It is hard but I wanted you my dear Samson is to know
we love you so much and think of you always.
Someone told me that “God wanted his puppy.”
Please God take good care of them both.
Samson and Duke.
We love you!!!!
Mama Cecile and Dada Asher
